Zakynthos Retreats 2027
Yoga, Breathwork & Pilates Retreats in Greece
If I was stranded on a desert island the food I’d take with me would be fresh Mediterranean tomatoes with basil and olive oil, fresh burrata and delicious grilled fish.
Luckily I don’t need to be stranded on a desert island because all of this exists, alongside sparkling (and very warm) turquoise water in Zakynthos.
And Blue Spaces is heading there in September 2027, so you can come too.
Nikita and I have just spent a couple of days exploring Zakynthos ahead of our September 2027 retreats. It was really important to us that we actually spent time there ourselves before bringing a group. We wanted to find the best coffee spots, places to eat, little beaches and swimming spots and generally get a feel for this part of the island.
And I think we’ve found some gems.
Two beautiful private villas in Zakynthos
We’ve found two really beautiful villas for our retreats, both private and secluded with incredible, endless views across the sea.
There’s something quite special about waking up and seeing nothing but blue.
Both villas have infinity pools, huge terraces and plenty of space. Somewhere to sit quietly with a book, have a cold glass of wine, lie by the pool or gather around the table together after dinner.
They feel tucked away from everything, which is exactly what we wanted. You have the peace and privacy of being on retreat, but we can still head out to explore the island, swim and eat.
Sunrise swims, turquoise water and getting to know Zakynthos
We found some incredible sunrise swimming spots where the water is completely clear and, if you’re an early riser, you can get in before most people have even started their day.
We also met some really lovely locals while we were there.
That matters to us. We don't want to fly into Zakynthos, disappear behind the walls of a villa and fly home again. Part of travelling is getting to know where you are, even if only a little.
So there will be opportunities to leave the villa, swim in the sea, explore, take a boat out to remote beaches and the blue caves, eat locally and actually experience Zakynthos.
And obviously we had to sample the food
Our retreat chef cooked for us while we were there and the food was excellent.
Fresh, simple Mediterranean food, beautiful local ingredients and exactly the kind of food you want after a morning of movement and swimming.
We take the food on our retreats pretty seriously, so sampling it ourselves felt like very important research.
Think fresh salads and vegetables, local cheeses, beautiful fish, olive oil, fruit and big tables of food to share together.
Two retreats in Zakynthos for September 2027
We’re actually running not one but two retreats, back to back.
Our first Zakynthos retreat will be centred around yoga and breathwork, with plenty of time for swimming, resting, eating and exploring.
For our second retreat we’re bringing the wonderful Mariana with us to teach Pilates and GYROKINESIS®, alongside slower restorative practices with Laura.
Both will have their own feel, but the idea behind them is the same.
A few days where you don't have to think too much about what comes next.
Movement in the morning. Long meals. Swimming in the sea. Time to read. Boat trips. Rest. Good conversation. Maybe a glass of wine as the sun goes down.
And no pressure to do everything.
More than a yoga retreat
There is something about being on retreat that I think is quite hard to explain until you’ve done it.
You get away from your normal life for a few days and suddenly things become quite simple.
You move, eat, swim, chat, laugh and rest. You spend time with people you might never otherwise have met, but you also have permission to disappear off with your book or go and sit somewhere quietly by yourself.
You don't have to fill every minute.
And somehow a few days can feel like much longer.
That’s really what we want our Zakynthos retreats to be about.
Beautiful surroundings, thoughtful movement, incredible food, warm sea, good people and enough space to actually enjoy all of it.
Zakynthos, Greece. September 2027.
We really can’t wait to go back, this time with you.
