Questions People Often Ask About Retreats, Coaching, Therapy and Business Support

We often receive questions from people who are considering a retreat, exploring coaching or therapy, or trying to grow a wellness business. Below are some of the things people commonly ask before deciding whether this work is right for them.

Retreats

  • Most women who come feel like they’ve been holding a lot together for quite a long time.

    Work, family, decisions, responsibilities. The constant feeling of needing to keep everything running.

    Some arrive feeling tired or overwhelmed. Others just know they need a break and a bit of space to think. A lot of people are somewhere in the middle of a life or career change and want time to step back and work out what they want next.

  • Most days are very simple. There’s usually a gentle yoga session in the morning and another later in the day, good food, time outside, and plenty of time where nothing is planned.

    Some people read, some go for a walk, some chill with coffee and have a chat. Nothing is intense or forced.

    It’s really just a few days where you don’t have to organise anything and you can slow down properly.

  • Absolutely! Many of those attending retreats will be coming on their own. You won’t be the only one! If you do want to share a room, then we can pair you with someone else, or you’re welcome to book your own room, depending on the venue setup. There will also be a whatsapp group set up for pre-retreat chats so you’ll have a chance to get to know people before we all arrive.

  • Yes! Ahead of the retreat, we’ll share a form for you to fill in, asking for more information on anything we need to be aware of to prepare. We will do our best to accommodate dietary requirements. 

  • Everyone is welcome! There is usually a mix of different experience in each class, so just come as you are and do as much or as little as you wish. It’s your time and your class! We’re here for you if you want to practice inversions by the pool, go big on savasana, or anywhere in between.

    And you don’t have to join every session. It’s your time. Up to you.

  • We will share the T&Cs for each retreat when you book, but in general, all deposits are non-refundable due to the costs we are responsible for per retreat. We do appreciate that emergencies sometimes happen so please get in touch if something comes up and we do our best to sort out a plan B.

  • Yes, we would always recommend that you arrange your own travel insurance. Just in case!

  • Packing is dependent on the location so we’ll share more details per each individual retreat. However, we would recommend comfortable clothes for a vinyasa yoga class in the mornings, and any type of relaxed clothing for the evening yin classes. A swimming costume or any kind is also a must! And swimming shoes/gloves - depending on the location and climate. We’ll also let you know ahead of the retreat if a yoga mat is required.

  • It often does.

    When you’re in the middle of daily life there’s rarely any time to think clearly. You’re just responding to whatever needs doing next.

    Stepping away for a few days can create the kind of space where people start noticing what they actually want, rather than just what they feel responsible for.

  • This will be outlined per each individual retreat on each retreat page. In general, flights and/or travel to the retreat venue is not included. 

  • We host retreats in places that feel calm and spacious, usually somewhere close to nature or the sea.

    Recent retreats have taken place in Mallorca, Scotland and Portugal. The venues are always somewhere quiet where you can properly switch off for a few days.

    We will also be hosting retreats in Iceland, Greece and France.

  • Yes, absolutely. In fact that’s one of the most common reasons people come.

    There’s no pressure to do everything. You can join the yoga sessions if you want to, or skip them and have a slow morning instead.

    It’s designed so you can take the time in whatever way you need.

  • Retreats that combine rest, time in nature, and space for reflection tend to help the most.

    When people step away from their usual responsibilities for a few days, things often start to feel clearer. Not because someone gives them the answer, but because they finally have the space to listen to their own thoughts. Our retreats do just that.

  • We encourage people to only enter the water if they feel comfortable and able. There are no lifeguards on the retreats so if you swim it is at your own risk. You do not have to swim however, paddling, dipping a toe or walking in to where you can stand comfortably is a great alternative to swimming.

  • Yes we do! Payment plans are offered for all our retreats, courses, coaching and therapy sessions.

    Most wellness practitioners are trained in their craft, whether that’s yoga, Pilates, coaching, therapy, or another modality. But very few trainings include much about running a business.

    So people often end up figuring things out as they go, which can feel messy and frustrating at times.

    With the right structure and support, the business side can become much simpler than it first appears.

  • A lot of people in the wellness space are very good at the work itself but were never really taught the business side.

    You might have done teacher training or practitioner training, but things like explaining what you offer clearly, structuring your services, or attracting clients consistently weren’t part of that.

    So many wellness professionals end up doing lots of marketing but still feeling like people don’t quite understand what they do.

    That’s usually not a skills problem. It’s often a clarity problem.

    Coaching usually looks more at where you are now and where you want to go next. It’s often about decisions, direction, and figuring out practical next steps.

    Both can be really helpful, they just focus on slightly different things.

  • That’s actually one of the most common reasons people seek coaching.

    You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly defined goal. Often the first part of the work is simply helping you untangle what’s been going on and understand what matters to you.

    Clarity usually develops through the conversations rather than before them.
